For color, choose a shade that makes your hair or eyes *pop*! When in doubt, choose a neutral shade like white, blush, blue, navy, or black as your base. If you want to add color, aim for pastels or jewel tones. Bright colors can cast unflattering color onto your skin, especially around the neck and cheeks. 

Say yes to a dress or two! Flowy dresses and skirts look amazing on camera because they flatter the female body and bring extra movement to the photos. You'll have the option to wear up to 2 outfits during the session so most couples opt for a more formal and more casual look. 

3/4 length sleeves create an awesome slimming effect on all arms, so be on the lookout for an option with a longer length sleeve whether it's a flirty top or a dress. You can always bring along a cute jacket or cardigan too.

Heels elongate women’s legs, making them look fabulous. Closed-toes heels in particular look great on camera because they carry out the line of your leg all the way to your toe. If you have a peep-toe heel, that's a good excuse to treat yourself to a pedicure! Tip: Bring a pair of flats to move between locations. 

For hair and makeup, your engagement session is also a great opportunity to do a trial run for your wedding day. It adds a polished professional look to the images you'll have as lifelong keepsakes and they'll enhance your already beautiful features. Check in with your wedding hair and makeup team to align the dates. Be sure the makeup artist factors in the natural light we will be in outside so that it doesn't look too heavy, and let them know if you'd like to do a more natural look.
